BUILT FOR EVERYDAY OPERATIONS
Run your application in a virtual machine environment. Compare the vCPU, memory and storage included in each plan.
An additional recovery option for your server. Maintain and test your own backups for business-critical data.
Plan for IPv6 connectivity and verify your firewall rules and application listeners after deployment.
Run dynamic sites and application workloads on high-clock CPUs, with automated weekly offsite backups included in your plan. A practical foundation for both everyday compute and recovery planning.
OPERATING SYSTEMS
Use Linux for web services, containers and APIs, or choose an eligible Windows plan for desktop and Windows application workloads. Available versions depend on the selected plan.

NETWORK / Australia / Sydney
Customer networks, cross-border routing and external dependencies shape application response times. Compare latency, packet loss and throughput from the networks your users actually use.
| Connection path | What to measure | Suggested method |
|---|---|---|
| Local customers → application | Peak-hour response and mobile packet loss | Ping / MTR at several times |
| Remote team → administration | Cross-border routing, jitter and remote access | Test from your operating network |
| Application → database / payments | End-to-end sign-in, queries and checkout | Exercise real application requests |
SOLUTIONS / Australia / Sydney
Separate customer requests, background jobs and data recovery so each part of the service has an appropriate resource budget.
Deploy Australian storefronts and business APIs in Sydney. Compare customer journeys from Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand, including external payment services and database requests.
Plan for memory, transfer and image caching
Host Australian APIs, account portals and support tools in Sydney. Test Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand separately rather than treating one Sydney result as regional coverage.
Plan for vCPU, database connections and queues
Schedule releases and database backups around Australian time zones. Review applicable privacy requirements and the placement of third-party services and recovery copies.
Plan for storage, retention and recovery time
Budget for your application runtime, database, logs and expected growth rather than choosing by CPU count alone.
Bandwidth is a connection rate, not an unlimited transfer allowance. Review both alongside your billing term.
Choose an OS, review the order and complete payment. Track provisioning in your POWOKE account.
DATA & COMPLIANCE / Australia / Sydney
Assess applicable requirements based on customer locations and the data you process. Define access controls, log retention and the responsibilities of third-party processors.
Check the dedicated IPv4 allocation and actual IP classification. Data centre addresses are not residential IPs; platform acceptance depends on its rules, account eligibility and use case.
The server and its offsite backups may be in different locations. Confirm backup regions, access permissions, retention and cross-border processing for customer or payment data.
A practical handover checklist, from sizing the instance to moving live traffic.
Budget RAM for the app, database and workers together. Leave storage headroom for updates and logs, and keep recovery copies outside the instance.
Test APIs and websites from your target market. A 1Gbps port is burst headroom; memory, transfer quotas and application dependencies still shape capacity.
Apply updates, set up SSH keys and restrict inbound access. Restore a backup in staging, then plan DNS changes and a rollback path.
Review renewal pricing, IPs, licenses and backup charges. Confirm provisioning and resize behaviour before setting a launch date.
Find answers about location, operating systems and billing, plus backup coverage and options as your workload grows.
Sydney is a candidate for services with users in both Australia and New Zealand, including customer portals and regional APIs. It is worth comparing when your current server is on another continent. Check both countries separately, since New Zealand carriers do not all take the same route to Sydney.
Choose from Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux, CentOS, Fedora and SUSE, plus Windows Server and lightweight Windows 10 / 11 images. Windows needs an eligible plan: the current entry tier has 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM and 20 GB SSD storage. Smaller plans cannot select Windows because of resource limitations. Check the OS selector for the versions available with your chosen plan.
Click View plans and pricing, then select a plan and billing term to see the total due. Monthly, quarterly, six-month and annual terms are shown where available, with applicable discounts reflected in the order summary. For an existing server, open its management page in your account and choose renewal to review the available terms and renewal quote before paying.
Yes. Automated weekly offsite backups are included at no extra charge. Each backup captures data at a point in time; changes made afterwards are not continuously replicated. For frequently updated orders or databases, add daily or more frequent application backups to reduce the amount of recent data at risk during recovery.
Yes. Where self-service upgrades are enabled, your server management page lists larger in-stock plans in the same location that support your current billing term. Review the quote and pay, then shut down and power on the server after the upgrade to apply its new resources. A paid traffic reset clears usage for the current allocation; it does not permanently increase your monthly transfer allowance.

Deploy Australian business websites and Sydney application endpoints from $4.93/mo. Entry profile: 1 vCPU / 512MB RAM / 5GB SSD / 1Gbps. Plan memory and transfer for lightweight workloads; verify paths from your users.
Starting configurations are references from the product catalogue. Live plan cards and checkout govern current prices, stock, transfer allowances and operating-system requirements. A 1Gbps port is a ceiling, not guaranteed sustained throughput.
Confirm resources, renewal costs, payment options and delivery timing. Request a product-specific test IP and check routes from your users’ networks.
Match CPU, RAM, storage, IPs and OS to your order. Verify login, remote management access and connectivity.
Run a representative workload and test backup recovery. Save your results and open a support ticket if the delivered configuration differs.

Available gateways, settlement currency and fees depend on the final checkout. Review the billing term and total before paying.
Refund windows, transfer limits, refund destination and eligibility for 99.9% availability compensation depend on your order's service terms. Confirm whether a first-order 24-hour refund applies before purchase; custom hardware and GPU plans may have different rules.
